Do you Need the Emmrod Stream Master Fly Rod?

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011
Have you ever noticed how hard it is to change what you do?  “That’s the way we have ALWAYS done it.” is a common refrain.  When it comes to trying something new, we will try minor variations on a theme.  For instance, we agree to try just a little hot pepper on the sweet and sour pork but revolt at the idea of a little pepper on the sweet and sour pork-u-pine!  So, what does this all have to do with the Emmrod Stream Master Fly Rod?  Well, it is that same attitude here that keeps people from buying this wonderful pole.  I am making a sign for my display saying “A real man leads and does not care what his friends say.”
.
You see, when people see this great compact fly rod, they love the idea, they think of all the ways it can help them fish smarter and better, then they walk away because it is pork-u-pine and not pork.  So, let’s look at what this great compact fly fishing rod can do for you.
.
Price:  I know this is the worst place to start, but it is instructional.  I did some quick checking on a Google Search.  Found a great 6 and a half foot bamboo pole on sale from 3500 bucks for a measley 2500 smackeroos.  You could even have it personalized for $49.92.  The next company started in the cheap seats at $199 dollars.  It crawled quickly up to about $350 and did not look back.  They topped out at about 800 dollars.  I did find one for about $60.  But it was very lonely out in the outfield.  The Emmrod Stream Master Fly Rod is only $99.95!  For those compact fly fishing need times you have a great pole that is only about three feet only and packs down into about 30 inches.   All that for the cost of 18 Big Mac meals!
.
So, who really needs a short, indestructable fly fishing rod?  Let me jump right in here and say I do not believe the Emmrod Stream Master is the end all to Fly Fishing.  I expect you will still go out and buy the long expensive poles that mark typical fly fishing practices.  On the other hand, there are many situations where those big expensive poles are just so wrong!
.
When you are involved in Extreme Fishing Experiences,  why drag a 300 or 800 dollar pole that can easily break back into the hinterlands where it is going to get beat up by the act of transportation?  When you are doing a lot of climbing, horseback riding, or just traversing heavy brush, you do not need to worry about a delicate 12 foot pole, even if it is broken up in a carrying case.   This is a perfect place for your tough 30″, 9 oz package which will take a real beating and just keep on working.
.
Often in small stream fishing an assembled 6′, let alone a 10 or 12″ pole is just too big.  Too many trees, too short a distance to actually cast, and you spend all your time frustrated.  Here is where the Emmrod Fly Rod is perfect.  Just slip it under the branches and get it into the water.
.
A common concern for Fly Fishing Rod users is when they have to work on their pole and have to put the reel in the water to reach the pole.  That is just not a problem with the Emmrod Fly Rod!  No, you can manage it all conveniently even if you are in a float tube, canoe or kayak.
.
So, anytime you are in a situation where transport or space is limited, you absolutely need the Emmrod Stream Master Fly Rod.
