Here is a question that came to me from the Web (I apologize to the asker, but the email you entered does not accept my responses): ”I want to buy a packer but have heard it is not suitable for low-profile baitcaster reels is this true? And if so what Emmrod pole would you recommend I use? The Packer® is the first photo below.
I love the Emmrod Packer®. It is the primary pole I use with a standard closed faced spinning reel. Because I do not use a low-profile bait caster reel, I was not able to answer this question so I contacted the factory. Here is what they had to say.
“This is true. They would need to go with a Packrod® cast or Rugged Flex® Cast. ”

The primary difference between The Rugged Flex® and the Packrod® is length. Want a short handle? Then the Packrod®. Want a longer handle? Then the Rugged Flex®.
